What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a skin care treatment that is used to stimulate collagen production in the skin, correcting signs of aging, stretch marks, acne scars, and more. The microneedling process is simple. Small needles break the skin's surface, triggering a healing response in the body. The body produces collagen in order to repair the skin, which heals quickly due to the small size of the injury. The excess collagen is then used to strengthen the skin, which results in tighter, healthier, and more beautiful skin. At Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, we use the SkinPen and Morpheus8 for microneedling treatments.
SkinPen targets the top layers of the skin for minor to moderate skin concerns.
Morpheus8 goes deeper into the skin for more advanced concerns.
