What is a Rhinoplasty?
A rhinoplasty, sometimes called a nose job, is a facial surgery procedure that addresses the shape and size of the nose. Since the nose is in the center of the face, it is largely responsible for your overall facial balance and appearance. A rhinoplasty can enhance the nose so it is optimally shaped for your face and your other facial features. In addition, rhinoplasty can be used to correct birth defects and breathing difficulties. After a rhinoplasty, patients enjoy improved facial harmony that leads to greater self-confidence in their appearance.
How Much Does a Rhinoplasty Cost?
At Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, we take a personalized approach to every rhinoplasty procedure. This means that the cost of your treatment will depend on variables like your personal preferences and unique cosmetic goals. As a result, we cannot provide you with the exact cost of treatment until you visit us in-office for a consultation. If you are concerned about the cost of your treatment, we are proud to offer plastic surgery financing to help make our treatments more affordable. In addition, we offer CosmetAssure insurance with every cosmetic surgery, so you can go into your treatment with confidence and peace of mind.
How is a Rhinoplasty Performed?
For the rhinoplasty procedure, we will use general anesthesia to ensure your safety and comfort during the surgery. To begin treatment, we will make incisions in the nose. These are typically placed inside the nose or along the septum, where they will be well-hidden. Through these incisions, we will remove or manipulate bone and cartilage to produce the desired results. After the desired shape and size is achieved, we will close the incisions, completing the surgery.
What is the Recovery Like After a Rhinoplasty?
After a rhinoplasty, you can expect some bruising and swelling around the nose. You may have to take a few days off of work and other activities in order to heal and allow these effects to subside. You will have to avoid strenuous activities, such as exercise, for at least a month after treatment in order to ensure a smooth recovery. Additionally, you may need to avoid sports and other activities that could cause trauma to the nose during the recovery period.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from a Rhinoplasty?
The results from your rhinoplasty will become visible as swelling and bruising fades. Residual swelling can last for as long as a year, so you may notice minor changes in the appearance of the nose for several months after your surgery. However, once this time has passed, you can expect your results to be permanent.
