What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation treatment that eliminates dead skin cells and fine hairs from the face. Dead skin cells can build up over time, causing the skin to feel rough and dry. With dermaplaning, patients can reveal the smooth, healthy skin that lies beneath these skin cells, while also eliminating debris that is clogging pores. As a result, patients can enjoy softer skin with a more even skin tone. The removal of fine hairs known as peach fuzz also helps contribute to softer, smoother skin. The dermaplaning is suitable for all skin types.
How Much Does Dermaplaning Cost?
At Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, our dermaplaning treatments are priced at $120 per session. However, they can be added on to any of our facials for just $60. Dermaplaning is a great treatment to combine with a facial, especially our SkinCeuticals facial treatments.
What is the Dermaplaning Treatment Like?
During the dermaplaning treatment, a small blade will be used to scrape peach fuzz and dead skin cells off of the skin's surface. This can cause a scratching sensation, but the treatment is generally well-tolerated. A dermaplaning treatment takes less than an hour to perform.
What is Recovery Like Following Dermaplaning?
There is absolutely no downtime or recovery period necessary after a dermaplaning treatment. Your skin may be slightly red following your treatment, but this will fade within a few hours. You will be able to return to work and other activities right after your appointment.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Dermaplaning?
The results of your dermaplaning treatment will be noticeable immediately. The dermaplaning treatment removes about three weeks of skin cells, so you can expect the results to last about a month. Many patients choose to receive regular dermaplaning treatments monthly in order to maintain their results.
