Chemical Peels in Knoxville, Tennessee

If you are looking for a facial rejuvenation treatment that is more extensive than a traditional facial, a chemical peel may be an ideal treatment for you. At Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, we offer

this and other spa services to the residents of Loudon, Powell, and Knoxville, TN.

What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical Peels that are safe for all skin types and skin tones.

A chemical peel is a facial rejuvenation treatment that works by exfoliating the outermost layers of skin. This is done with a topical chemical solution, which provides maximum results under the careful supervision of our staff. Chemical peels can be used to address signs of aging, skin damage, acne, and other cosmetic concerns. At Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, we offer the following chemical peel treatments:

  • TCA Peel — The TCA peel is perfect for pigmentation concerns, including sun damage, age spots, and other irregularities. It can be performed in varying strengths depending on your skin type and treatment needs.
  • Glycolic Acid Peel — Glycolic acid peels are the ideal chemical peel treatment for acne and acne scars. This treatment is also effective for enhancing skin tone and addressing wrinkles and lines.
  • VI PEEL: Percision Plus - Treats sun damage, melasma, and Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH). This medium-depth powerhouse peel works to suppress melanogenesis—the production of melanin—at the source while promoting rapid cell turnover for a more even and bright skin tone. Resurfacing action reveals brighter, renewed skin for results in 7 days.
  • VI PEEL: Purify with Precision Plus - Treats excessive oil, acne with hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and adult acne. Take on current breakouts and the scars and pigmentation they leave behind. Our superior purifying and smoothing acne treatment clears away dead skin cells and excess oil to speed breakout clearing and purify pores to prevent breakouts. By targeting melanogenesis—the production of melanin—at the source, this treatment helps minimize stubborn post-acne scars and uneven tone for a brighter, smoother surface.

How Much Does a Chemical Peel Cost?

At Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, we take a personalized approach to every chemical peel treatment. This means that the cost of your treatment will depend on variables such as your treatment goals and the type of peel performed. However, our chemical peel treatments typically range from $90 to  $300.

What is the Chemical Peel Treatment Like?

The chemical peel treatment begins with a gentle cleansing of the skin. Then, your chemical peel solution will be applied to the skin. It will sit on the skin for the duration of your treatment, causing controlled exfoliation. During this process, you may feel a warm or tingling sensation. After the allotted time has passed, the chemical peel will be removed, and your treatment will be complete.

What is Recovery Like Following the Chemical Peel Treatment?

Your recovery will vary depending on the intensity of your chemical peel treatment. However, you can expect your skin to peel and flake off a few days after your appointment. This may be accompanied by mild skin redness and sensitivity. For a few weeks following your treatment, we recommend that you limit sun exposure to prevent damage to the newly exposed skin. Still, you should be able to return to work and other normal activities within a day of treatment.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from a Chemical Peel?

The results from your chemical peel will become visible after the skin has healed. However, it often takes a series of chemical peel treatments to produce optimal results. Since the skin has to heal for about one month between treatments, it can take a few months before you achieve your desired results. After this time, you can receive regular treatments to maintain your results.
