What areas can be treated?
The excelHR is safe to treat most areas of the body with exceptional results. Commonly requested treatment areas for women include underarms, legs, and bikini area. Commonly requested areas for men are the chest and back. Although it is safe to use on the face, such as lip and chin areas, it is not recommended to treat the eyebrows.
What skin types can be treated with laser hair removal?
Although some laser hair removal treatments have previously only worked for lighter skin and hair types, we use the Cutera excel® HR laser system that allows us to provide effective laser hair removal treatments for most skin types and hair types.
Is laser hair removal painful?
The laser does produce a warming sensation, but the excelHR also provides continuous cooling before, during, and after each laser pulse to minimize pain and discomfort.
How long does the laser hair removal treatment take?
Treatments can be performed rather quickly for small treatment areas, but can take up to an hour for large areas like the back or legs.
What kind of results can I expect from laser hair removal?
The results from laser hair removal will be visible within a few days of treatment. However, since body hair grows at varying rates, it is nearly impossible to treat all hair follicles in a single treatment. This means that most patients will need to receive multiple treatment sessions in order to ensure that every hair is treated and maximum hair removal is achieved. Once a hair follicle is treated, it will no longer produce hair, so the results from treatment can be permanent.
How many treatments will I need?
In most cases, laser hair removal is performed in 4-5 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart. It is important to stick with the treatment schedule you are given at your consultation to ensure optimal results.
