Brachioplasty, or an arm lift, reshapes the under portion of the upper arm (from underarm to elbow). The droopy, saggy appearance all women dread as we grow older can be caused by weight changes and even heredity. Fat deposits settle into the area and tissue weakens. An arm lift can:
- Reduce excess skin and fat
- Reshaping your arm resulting in smoother skin and contouring
- Create a more toned and proportional appearance
What to Expect?
The incision length and pattern will depend on the amount and location of excess skin to be removed. Generally incisions are placed on the inside of the arm or on the back of the arm and may extend from the underarm to just above the elbow. Underlying supportive tissue is tightened and reshaped, with the skin being smoothed over the new contour of your arm. Improvements brachioplasty can be seen shortly after the procedure, though initial results may be affected by swelling and bruising.
