What is the SkinPen Treatment Like?
We will apply a topical anesthetic to the area being treated approximately 30-45 minutes before your SkinPen treatment. This helps to reduce any discomfort that may occur during the treatment process. The microneedles penetrate the superficial layer of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process. The treatment typically takes 30 minutes.
What is Recovery Like Following SkinPen?
The treated area will be slightly pink or red immediately following treatment, similar to a sunburn. You may also experience temporary dryness, tightness, itching, peeling, tenderness, and burning that will dissipate over several days following your treatment. Despite these side effects, most patients are able to resume regular activities within a day or two of treatment. It is important to limit makeup application and sun exposure for a few days after your treatment.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from SkinPen?
SkinPen can dramatically improve the appearance of acne scars. The treatment can also help reduce pore size, smooth fine lines & wrinkles, and improve skin complexion & texture, giving you a more radiant and youthful appearance. Results can be seen within a few days, but continually improve, seeing full results at about 3 weeks. Several treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results.
